Graduate Admission Guidelines
We admit students in the fall semester of each year; however, domestic students will
be considered for admission year-round. Admission is based on prior academic
records, GRE and TOEFL scores, letters of recommendation, and graduate
program goals (statement of purpose). Admission to the Electrical
Engineering and Computer Science graduate program requires a GRE Verbal
score of 500, Quantitative score of 700 and Analytical writing score of
4.5.For students from the old GRE system, the cut-off score is 1800.
International students also need a TOEFL score of at least 550 (or the
computer-based equivalent of 213).
In addition, admission to the Ph.D. program requires completion of a Master's
degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or a related area, or a
Bachelor's degree with a 3.3/4.0 GPA or better from an accredited
engineering program. Applicants with Bachelor's degrees seeking direct
admission to the doctoral program must have demonstrated high academic
performance and an ability to pursue research during their undergraduate
program.
Admission and financial support are separate matters. Graduate assistantships for
International students are extremely limited. Students admitted to the EECS
Graduate Program are automatically considered for financial support in the
form of tuition scholarships/graduate assistantships. There is no need to
apply separately.
Please visit the World Wide Web page
here to apply online.
