Jack began college at the University of Michigan School of Education in 1963, later transferring to the Electrical Engineering program at Michigan. While married, he worked his way through college as a drafter and designer for a consulting engineering firm in Yipsilanti, Michigan. He became registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Michigan in 1976.
He joined AVCA Corporation in 1980 as Electrical Department Manager and retired nearly twenty years later as Executive Vice President. In 1999, Jack was awarded IEEE Senior Grade. Over the years, he has enjoyed counseling young potential engineering candidates as to the benefits and overall satisfaction of pursuing a career in engineering.
This summer he and his wife, Mary Kay, will celebrate thirty-six years of marriage. They have two daughters, both teachers, and three grandchildren, the most recent adopted from Moldova, formerly part of the Soviet Union.
