Biographies Junghwan Kim (M’88) was born in Seoul, Korea, in 1951. He received the B.S. degree in electronics engineering from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, in 1975, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, VA, in 1985 and 1988 respectively. He was with Gold Star Research Institute of Communications, Anyang, Korea from 1975 to 1982, where he developed electronic telephone switching system. In September 1988, he joined the faculty of the University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio, where he is currently a Professor in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department
